Camping Fun!!

They boys have been wanting to "camp" for quite a while now. Last year Buck and Ethan camped out in the back yard in the tent one night. Ethan didn't remember a whole lot about it and Logan wasn't old enough and wanted to come inside after about 20 minutes to sleep in his crib. After seeing camping stories on lots of the little shows they watch they were both eager to try it for themselves. We've been talking about another backyard camp-out for the last couple months, but the cool temperatures have been too much for us Floridians.  This past Saturday ended up being rainy and cold so at first I thought we would have to put it off yet another week. Then I realized that all the boys really care about is sleeping in the tent. So.....we pitched a tent....in the playroom :) The boys thought it was a wonderful idea and said it was the "best camp-out ever".  We grilled up some hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob and some baked beans for our "camp food". The boys also wanted to know where we were going to roast our marshmallows. Ugh????? Then I remembered the fondue pot that we got when we were first married. Its been used all of once since then :) The boys thought it was the coolest thing ever to use "marshmallow pokers" and dip them in chocolate. We even sat on the floor to make it more "campfireish" ;) After desert they headed off to sleep in the tent. They went to sleep pretty quick, but after waking up twice Logan decided he'd rather sleep in his bed. Thank goodness we weren't really out in the woods somewhere :) Overall they both had a great time though and keep asking when we can do it again. Madelyn wasn't old enough to eat chocolate dipped marshmallows or sleep in the tent, but she did have a good time climbing in and out of the tent. Maybe next year :)

Enjoying their fondue. Well....the boys were enjoying it. Buck thought the whole inside camping/roasting marshmallows was silly. Funny that I didn't seem him heading outside to camp in the 35 degree weather....hmm??
